Having a number of family members with various careers in healthcare, Elliot felt naturally drawn to studying medicine.
However, following a period of work experience at Plexus Law and a mini pupillage at 18 Red Lion Chambers, he became interested in learning about medical accidents and the situations leading to them. Inspired by the courage of patients coping with the results of negligent treatment – along with years of helping out at a local Special School in Cardiff during the holidays – he decided to convert to a law degree and, in particular, to pursue a career as a claimant lawyer.
Given the reputation for excellence of both the firm and its individual lawyers within the field of medical negligence litigation, Elliot considers his appointment at Gadsby Wicks to have been a significant turning point in his legal career so far. “As a claimant-only practice, specialising exclusively in medical negligence claims,” he says, “Gadsby Wicks offers injured patients – and the solicitors who work for the firm - access to such a high level of expertise across a diverse range of cases. Between them, the lawyers here have had experience of every type of medical negligence claim.”
