Bowel injured during hysterectomy – £58,000

Mrs Noble’s had a vaginal hysterectomy performed in Hospital. She was discharged the following day but, after becoming unwell was re-admitted and underwent an emergency laparotomy. A small hole in the mid sigmoid colon had caused peritonitis, leading to significant sepsis – a life-threatening condition.

We made a claim on behalf of Mrs Noble, on the basis that her bowel had been perforated during the hysterectomy procedure due to substandard surgical technique, requiring her to have further surgery.
