Jessica Wright

Medical Negligence Solicitor

“It is extremely rewarding to be able to be an ear for injured patients and to get them the money that can help make their lives a little easier. We see the same types of cases happening over again though, which is incredibly frustrating. We need to see hospitals – both NHS and private – making sure they learn from their mistakes.”

Profile:

Jessica Wright joined Gadsby Wicks in November 2016. She spent 8 years at Thompsons Solicitors where she did her training. There, Jess specialised in personal injury and medical negligence claims, particularly those involving delay in diagnosing cancer, wrong site surgery and orthopaedic surgery. Jess then moved to Wiseman Lee where she specialised in medical negligence before joining Gadsby Wicks.

It was always Jess’s ambition to become a solicitor and, whilst at school, she spent work experience at solicitor firms before embarking on her career in the law. Having grown up near Chelmsford, she was aware of Gadsby Wicks’ excellent reputation in the field of medical negligence and so, wanting to continue to work closely with claimants, when the opportunity arose she joined the firm as a solicitor.

Jess grew up in Great Dunmow, Essex, and is a keen runner. She is a member of a local netball team and enjoys going to the theatre.

Career highlight:
Whenever there is an admission of liability that leads to being able to recover compensation for someone who has been injured or for a family who have lost a loved one.
